Say it with Cards

Cards are a form of expressing yourself when words fail to express the emotions.

On 10th November,  my mom-in-law's close friend, whom she's known for almost 58 years, turned 75. She wanted to gift her something unique and handmade. That's how I ended up doing this card for her. She composed a poem in Tamil, exclusively for her, which I wrote on the inside of the card.

I am submitting this card as my entry for the HLS Novermber Challenge - Anything Goes with Dies

I took a Linen paper, used Distressed Oxides Salty Ocean, Peacock feathers and Fossilised amber for the background and spritzed water on it so as to get the oxidised effect. Next with modelling paste, did the stencil work. With Blue sapphire distress ink and Prima stencil added another layer to the background. Layered the die cut doily that was coloured with distress ink blue saphire. Adhered flowers and leaves and wrote the sentiment. And using the Mudra Stamps with Cobalt Archival Ink, did the filler stamping. And finally added art stones and highlighted them and also the flowers with Inkagold Old Silver.

Die cuts used are
Ornate Doily from Itsy Bitsy
Olive Branches from Creative Expressions
Flourish Die from Cheery Lynn Designs
