I don't go crazy.
I am crazy!
I just go normal from time to time. I am not sure if I attract crazy or if I make them that way.😁
A crazy week it's been and what better way to describe it than with the crazy birds!!
I am totally excited to share with you all, a one stroke painting tutorial on..... any guesses?????
A Shadow Box converted to Crazy bird house. 😁😁...Crazy right?
Here's what I did:
First I applied a coat of gesso on the box and the stand, as it is an MDF base and let it dry. I generally like to play with colours. So I mixed a little of real brown with titanium white and painted the framework of the box and the stand.
I wanted to give the grain effect of real wood. Thought that would add to the drama of what i have in mind. I wondered how to bring that effect. That's when the Craftreat woodgrain stencil came to my rescue. I gave the woodgrain effect with real brown. For the inside of the box, I used Real brown.
Next, I did overlapping teardrop strokes with cardinal red and a mix of white and daffodil yellow, to form a cone on a white cardstock paper. After drying, it was cut to the desired shape and attached to the top of the box to bring out the house effect.
I stamped the Tim Holtz Bird Crazy stamps and accessories with archival black ink on a white cardstock. With different colours of Plaid Folkart Multisurface paints, I shaded the birds and assembled them in the box with foam tape and tacky glue to bring out the drama inside the bird house.
Finally I assembled all the elements and finished the house concept.
