Always Step Forward

Challenges are part and parcel of day to day life. Without it life would be meaningless. It is how we perceive each challenge that matters. That's what makes us stronger.

I love challenges not only in life but in arts too. The blog challenges that are available all over the world, help me improve my perception toward art and crafts.

When Mudra announced their Monthly blog challenge for November, something inside me pushed me to participate. The result is this... An Art Journal Layout!!!

A really long time back, I had purchased a few Mudra stamps, from which I started using the Mendhika probably because it has small zentangle designs which goes very well with every layout of my art journal. But I never had the opportunity to use the Ria clear stamp. Finally the jinx was broken.

Here's my take on the Mudra November Challenge.

I first used Distress oxides Black Soot and Ground Espresso for the background. I used these 2 particular colours because black is a mysterious colour. Life, like the colour black, is enigmatic. The earthy tone Brown, is a colour of honesty. No matter where life takes us, we should be honest and down-to-earth.

Next I stamped the corner design from the Mudra Hennah Clear Stamp using Versamark, and heat set it with White embossing powder. White represents purity, goodness and positivity that has to be incorporated in life.

I stuck a die cut doily to gold tone glitter foam sheet which I had in my stash for a long time. I added a black doily too, to represent that though a person goes through hardships in life, they emerge shining.

How could I leave my favourite Mendhika Clear stamps? I used a few stamps to add additional effect along with glitters, to the background.

I stamped the Ria Clear Stamp image on a white cardstock and coloured it with colour pencils and fussy cut the same. Adhered it to the journal.

Finally I added my quote.

"I am not good at future planning. I don't plan at all. I don't know what I'm doing tomorrow. I don't have a day planner and I don't have a diary. I completely live in the now, not in the past, not in the future." - Heath Ledger.
