Hi all
I'm at the Craftreat blog with a fun tutorial using Craftreat stencils. They give great background to any project. Here's a steampunk card in mixed media style.
First gave a background with Basketweave stencil and distress ink fossilised amber. Then I overlapped it with Numeric stencil with hickory smoke.
Next, heat embossed the gears wooden embellishments with Versamark and black embossing powder.
On a die cut oval, assembled all.
I wanted some rustic look on my project. With Finnabair Patina effect paste and Finnabair Rust effect paste, added the special effects to get the grungy effect.
Added art stones and coloured them with Vivid metallics Ginger peach. Then added highlights with Inkagold Old gold and Art Alchemy Red Amber.
Finally added my quote and the dragonfly.

DeleteLove the grungy look here! At first glance, I thought you had used embossing powders to achieve that look. The paints look amazing on those embossed gears. Thank you so much for sharing with us at A Vintage Journey in our Melt It challenge.
