Tag along with Ardhanaree

Hi all!!!

Here are two tags that I created for the Craftreat Blog using Craftreat Decoupage papers and stencils. They were completely created in 2 contrasting colour schemes and different styles - Vintage style and Shabby Chic style. Can I call them Ardhanaree (Sanskrit name for half man half woman)???😎.. I think I should because they appear like masculine and feminine concept to me, one with a grungy appeal and the other soft and beautiful. Maybe I am now working on a Ardhanaree dance for my students that I ended up doing these tags. 😄

I have used Craftreat Decoupage Papers Rose and Lace and Angel set 1. I first adhered the papers on to a thicker card base with Mod Podge.

Next I used the Craftreat Fireworks Stencil and modelling paste and added a background layer.

While the paste was still wet I sprinkled Lindy's Embossing powder and heat set it.

Layered a lace, frame, thread, flowers, Mudra Leafy swirls chipzeb, sentiment and sprinkled Color Conceptions Sparkling Dust to finish the Shabby Chic tag.

Moving on to the next Tag. I applied Distress Crackle paint on the base and let it set. I got these very subtle tiny cracks. I really love tiny cracks.

I next applied Plaid Folkart Antiquing Medium Wooden Bucket on the cracked effect. Gently wiped off the excess with a tissue. And tada..... I'm totally in love with the effect. The exact antique look that I wanted was achieved. Ya... I know... Happy tears.

I next used the Craftreat Numeric Stencil and Walnut Stain Distress ink, created an interesting background.

Die cut a few gears and heat set them with Versamark and Liquid Platinum and Copper Embossing Powders.

Added more rusty effect with Rust Pastes.

Layered all the embellishments and art stones and highlighted them with Red amber and Bronze age art waxes.

Later I added Mudra script stamp with Staz on Timber Brown.
