Steampunk Art Journal

Art Journals are something which I love to do. It helps one express what they have in mind. Sometimes I create a journal page just for quotes. Sometimes... Mmmm😛... should I say most of the times, I won't have any idea but would just play to create interesting backgrounds. Sometimes I would love some stamps and would want it as my focal point, thus ending up as Visual journal (along with some quote 😜). Sometimes just for the sake of using a product, I create my page. Whatever be the reason, Art Journaling is always close to my heart.

Today, I'm at the Craftreat Blog with a different take on art journal spread using products from the Craft Shop.

Earlier I have tried steampunk style in mixed media on canvas. But here's my take on the style in art journal.
For the base, I took the Steampunk Craftreat Decoupage paper and applied the Finnabair Black Sand Texture paste over Craftreat Clock stencil. Let it dry.

In the meantime, I die cut a few gears using the Crafters Companion Metal die set, Corner embellishments and Doilies.

I used the Rust effect pastes and the Patina effect pastes on all the gear die cuts, heat embossed the corner flourishes with Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder.  While this was drying, I applied the rust and patina pastes on the stencil work to add interest to the background.

Next I assembled all the die cut elements and added art stones with Soft Gel.

When this was dry, I used Inka Gold Old Silver and Art Alchemy Metallic Wax Rich Copper to highlight the stones along with Viva Precious Metal Paint Cinnamon. In between I also added Distress spray Stain Vintage Photo to give depth for the stones.

Finally I added the Quote to complete my art journal.

Hope you liked it.
